Determining the problem requires time to perform a complete test of the system or the given area. Faults can occur with variety hardware, on both desktops and laptops such as hard drives, memory, motherboard or any other electronic part if not correctly installed on the right system.
Bad memory, this fault can cause major stability problems though out the system that can lead to the corruption of the operating system, it is hard to believe that a stick of RAM could cause such a problem.
Hard drives and the blue screen of death, computer freezes or fails to load and many other issues. One of the main reasons for this is cheap hard dives; another would be lack of proper maintenance or over heating. Finally just bad luck I am afraid, things will and do break down from time to time.
